BUSINESS

UNITS

OVERVIEW

There are four phases in the production and deployment of unmanned aircraft (i) design and simulations, (ii) manufacturing and assembly, (iii) flight test and certification, and (iv) client-side field service. A typical ‘vertically integrated’ business will operate in a serial fashion for any given use-case optimized production. It will, therefore, be throttled by the component organization that is throughput limited for that specific use-case.  To fully utilize our company’s expertise in (1) aircraft design optimization, (2) precision volume manufacturing, (3) testing and certification, and (4) post-sales support, Meadowlark is ‘matrix integrated’ in four P&L components (business units) that are free to partner with outside entities who have partial solutions and are looking for complimentary services.

Digital Engineering

Meadowlark is a fully digital production company, providing end-to-end traceability from client requirements definition to field operations and safety data throughout the life of the aircraft.  The role of the Digital Engineering business unit is to interface with potential clients, flow-down the use-case requirements to aircraft subsystems and eventually to individual components, assess capability of the design through simulations and produce an optimized digital-twin design point that is transferred to the manufacturing production team.  This business unit will also provide simulation services for pre-award concept clients as well as digital-twin production design point for clients who have a proven design and are seeking volume manufacturing support from Meadowlark.

Digital Engineering

Meadowlark Aircraft envisions a future in which unmanned aerial systems vastly outnumber conventional aircraft, and for this to come about, an approach to manufacturing which addresses the unique needs of this market will be required.  The consumer electronics market offers proof that high quality and performance can be delivered at low cost, while the commercial airline industry serves as a reminder that high cost does not always deliver quality consistently.  Meadowlark will optimize cost while delivering the highest level of quality and performance by building scalable production capability and controls into its manufacturing from day one, and by reducing variation through the intelligent application of automation, data analysis, process optimization and control.

Test and Certification

At Meadowlark Aircraft, the flight certification business unit ensures that each UAS not only complies with FAA class certification but also sets industry standards for safety and performance. Our certification process includes detailed flight testing to assess each UASs operational performance, alongside client-specific evaluations such as radar cross-section, thermal image, and acoustic signature to ensure predictable detectability and optimal operational discretion. Our systematic analysis of flight data continually enhances our aircraft designs and reliability. By applying these insights, Meadowlark certifies that all UASs exceed stringent safety and performance standards.
